The Emmanuel College (EC) Lady Lions Basketball Team outscored the North Greenville University Lady Crusaders (68-58) in the NCCAA South Region Championship game on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 in the Hayes Gymnasium in Tigerville, SC.

Felecia Towler led the Lady Lions attack with a double-double: pulling down 12 rebounds and scoring 11 points. Tenea Mann netted 22 points, scoring 15 points from the 3-point arc, dished out 4 assists, grabbed 3 turnovers, and blocked 3 shots. Caneisha Bell scored 8 points, and pulled down 5 rebounds. Shekela Bradley scored 7 points, and Ashley Jackson scored 6 points and pulled down 8 rebounds. Jasmine Barner netted 6 points while Mallory Hill scored 5 points. The Lady Lions improved their overall record to 19-7 and 11-6 in the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC). Coach Mike Bona and the Lady Lions will be traveling to Oakland City, IN, March 13-15, to participate in the NCCAA National Tournament. The Lady Lions host the Reinhardt College Lady Eagles in the EC Lions’ Den on Saturday, February 23, 2008 with tip-off set for 2 PM.

Debbie Warner led the Lady Crusaders’ scoring attack with 19 points, scoring 12 points from the 3-point arc. Eboni Davis scored 11 points, Jaleesa Gladden netted 9 points, and Amanda Milner scored 8 points. Nikki Wood handed-out 4 assists and pulled down 6 rebounds. The Lady Crusaders strength-of-season and overall record of 14-12 may still earn them an at-large bid to the NCCAA National Championship Tournament. Coach Jayne Arledge and the Lady Crusaders will host Mars Hill during their Senior Day activities in Hayes Gymnasium on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 2PM.
