In the second selection of the season Berry College’s Matt McCalley is chosen as SSAC Pitcher of the Week. Player of the Week honors went to Jarrod Willis from Reinhardt College
Matt McCalley was selected after giving up only a pair of hits and allowing no runs over 5.2 innings. The sophomore compiled one win and three saves over the week while striking out six at the plate and walking none. Two of McCalley’s no hit saves came against conference rival and No. 19 Auburn Montgomery, a program that had only a single conference loss entering the series.
Jarrod Willis earned Player of the Week honors after outstanding performances over five games. The junior was 10-for-16 at the plate while batting .625 with eight scored runs and seven RBIs. Willis was 4-for-6 in Reinhardt’s three-game series with No. 2 Lee and recorded four RBIs and scored four runs in the process. His home run and one of his three doubles also came in that series as well.
