Faulkner’s Cheryl Lavarnway and Reinhardt’s Ashley Bramhall have been
named the Southern States Athletic Conference’s Softball Pitcher and
Player of the Week.
Lavarnway pitched 19 innings in three games against conference foes Brewton-Parker, Emmanuel and Southern Wesleyan, giving up only six hits, striking out 17 batters, and allowing zero earned runs. She got the win in all three games.
Bramhall had a .450 batting average on the week with team highs of nine hits, six RBI and six runs scored as Reinhardt went 5-1. She had three doubles and a slugging percentage of .600. Against nationally-ranked Lee University, she went 4-for-7 with two doubles, two RBI and added a stolen base.
