Chris Hennessey of #17 Lee University was selected as the SSAC Defensive Player of the Week while Mamadou Danso of Southern Poly was selected as the SSAC Offensive Player of the Week.

Hennessey, a 5-10 JR D from Manchester, England, and the Lee Flames played in in the Lindenwood Invitational this past weekend. The Lee junior defender was outstanding in the 2-1 win over Lindenwood and the 1-2 loss to 13th-ranked Park University. Hennessey stepped up and nailed a perfectly placed free kick for the Flames' only score in the 1-2 defeat to Park. He was singled out by coach Henry Moyo for his defensive performance in each contest.

Danso, a 6'3 SO Forward from Serekunda, Gambia, broke the single game record for goals (4) and points (9) for SPSU with 4 goals and 1 assist against conference foe Faulkner University.
