Shorter forward Robert Whitnell and Auburn-Montgomery goalkeeper Steve Keller claimed the Southern States Athletic Conference Player of the Week Awards for offense and defense respectively on Monday. Whitnell tallied 10 points for the week to lead the Hawks to a pair of SSAC victories, while Keller kept a clean sheet for the week.

Keller earned the SSAC Defensive Player of the Week award after posting three shutouts for the Senators during the week. He had a total of four saves on the week including a pair in the team's 3-0 victory over No. 12 Houghton (N.Y.). Keller also had two saves in a 1-0 win over Vanguard. He also earned the shutout in AUM's 3-0 win over Emmanuel to start conference play.

Whitnell was named the SSAC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring three goals and assisting four times as his team went 2-0 for the week in a pair of SSAC matches. Whitnell scored twice and assisted on another goal in Shorter's 4-1 win over Southern Polytechnic. He then added a goal and three assists in the Hawks' 7-1 victory over Faulkner.
