Reinhardt's Sami Lane picked a great way to lead the Eagles into the conference volleyball tournament at Berry this weekend. The 5-foot-8 outside hitter from Kennesaw, Ga. was named the SSAC Volleyball Player of the Week. (Nov. 3-8)
Lane had a solid week as the Eagles rebounded from a tough 2-3 defeat to Berry and handed Brewton-Parker and Southern Wesleyan back-to-back defeats. For the week, Lane had 50 kills and 56 digs. The outside hitter posted a match-high 22 kills in Reinhardt's win over Brewton Parker.
The Eagles will take a 19-12 overall record into the SSAC tournament. The No. 4 seed will play Southern Wesleyan University in the opening round on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
