On Monday, December 15, the Southern Wesleyan Women's Basketball team partnered with The Salvation Army of Greenville in preparation for the Christmas holiday.
Players and coaches spent the afternoon at the Carolina First Center, putting care packages together which will be given to local families who are in need. Included in the packages were clothes, toys, and shoes. The Salvation Army of Greenville will service hundreds of families during the Christmas season.
The service project was definitely an eye opening experience for both the players and coaches. Athletic teams are regularly on the receiving end of things, but this time, they had an opportunity to be on the giving side.
Southern Wesleyan (4-4, 2-1) is currently enjoying Christmas break, but will return to action on Thursday, January 8, when they host Berry College in a Southern States Athletic Conference matchup. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
