Atlanta, Ga. - Cassie Moore, a sophomore transfer from Auburn University, has been picked as the first Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the Southern States Athletic Conference for games played Dec. 29 through Jan. 4.
Moore scored a career-high 20 points in the Lady Senators 63-40 win over Spring Hill, and made it a double-double with 11 rebounds. Additionally, she tacked on an impressive six blocks, while adding a steal and an assist.
She currently leads the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.6 points and eight rebounds per game. Moore also has 14 blocked shots and is shooting 65 percent from the field.
Moore will now advance to the National Player of the Week voting, which will be announced tomorrow evening by the NAIA.
The next Player of the Week selection will be on Monday, Jan. 12.
