
Lee University totaled 98 points and 8 first place votes and is the preseason coaches' selection to win the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) baseball title. The Flames, coached by 2008 NAIA National Baseball Coach of the Year Mark Brew, posted a 63-10 record last year and made it to the NAIA championship game last year. Southern Polytechnic garnered one first place vote and is picked second with 85 points. AUM and Faulkner are picked third and fourth with 80 and 68 points respectively. Lee, SPSU and AUM all advanced to the NAIA Region XIII Tournament last year.
Points were awarded on a 10-1 basis and coaches' could vote for their own team.
