MOBILE-The doubles tandem of Alberto Gonzalez and Michael Johnson have won the ITA Super Bowl and will now move on to the NCAA Indoor National Championships hosted by Yale University on Nov. 3. The duo will face doubles teams from the best teams of NCAA Division I teams at the indoor championships.

The duo had to first win the NAIA men's doubles championship to play for the Super Bowl Championship. They were the two seed in the championship behind Matthijs Bolsius and Mathias Weber from Azusa Pacific. Those two teams made it into the finals which saw the Senators defeat the top seed 6-3, 6-3.

Once the duo made it into the Super Bowl, they faced Andrew Thomason and Andrew Lee of Middlebury College, the winners from the NCAA Division III bracket. The two teams matched each other point-for-point, but the AUM duo was able to win the three-set thriller, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.

This will be Michael Johnson's second trip to the Indoor Championships, as he teamed with Monte Tucker last year to win the ITA Super Bowl and play at the Indoor Championships.

Gonzalez was trying to pull off the double championship by winning the singles Super Bowl as well.  He made it through the NAIA singles championship by defeating Caio Claudin of Lindenwood University, 6-3, 6-3.

Gonzalez faced top-seeded Damian Hume of Collin County Junior College in the Super Bowl. Hume was able to turn back Gonzalez in the championship 6-4, 6-4.

Morgane Zworczak represented the AUM women's program and pulled out a fifth-place finish in the NAIA Women's Singles championship. She lost her first match to Hillary Collins from Savannah College of Art and Design. Zworczak went on to win three consecutive matches after the first round defeat, with the fifth-place win being over Trina Slapeka from Lindsey Wilson College.

The results from these tournaments set the preseason rankings which come out in November.
