Rome, Ga. - Sebastian Stihler scored two goals and four other Hawks reached the score book as third-seeded Shorter College blanked No. 6 seed Brewton-Parker College, 6-0, at Ben Brady Field in the quarterfinal round of the Southern States Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Tournament.

Shorter (12-5-2), which is now unbeaten in its last five matches, moves on to face second-seeded and national No. 16 Auburn University-Montgomery, a 1-0 winner over seventh-seeded Emmanuel College, in the SSAC semifinals on Tuesday, Nov. 10 in Montgomery, Ala.

The Hawks dropped a tough, 2-1 decision to the Senators on Oct. 18, yielding three penalty kicks - two of which were converted - in that affair.

The Hawks advanced into the semifinal round with a dominating performance from start to finish.

Shorter unleashed 32 shots while surrendering just three to the Barons, and jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 2:48 into the match on a strike from Elliott Livesey.

The Hawks added three more goals in the first half, one from leading scorer Kyle Timberlake (30th-minute) and a pair from Stihler (14th-minute, 38th-minute) to take a 4-0 lead into the locker room.

Resting comfortably with momentum on its side, Shorter added onto its advantage in the 51st-minute, as captain Mark Beattie found the back of the net off a feed from Timberlake.

Beattie then assisted on the Hawks' final tally of the evening, finding Garry Perks for the six goal advantage in the 64th.

Shorter did not allow a corner kick to Brewton-Parker, which bows out of the tournament with a final record of 3-12-2.

The first round win came in the first-ever post season match ever held on the new Ben Brady surface, and the Hawks improved to 2-0 all-time when playing on the turf. Shorter beat Truett-McConnell, 5-3, at Brady Field on Oct. 24.
