MONTGOMERY-Tscahana Wade scored two second half goals to lead Auburn University at Montgomery to a 2-0 win over Faulkner in the Southern States Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Tournament semifinals.
Neither team was able to score a goal in the first half as both teams went into the locker room with seven shots.
The second half was all AUM as the Lady Senators came out of the gate strong and missed on a first-minute goal when Margaret Albertsdottir shot from left of the goal went off the cross bar.
AUM continued to keep pressure on Faulkner's defense and in the process kept the ball away from Faulkner's Nicole Jagt, who leads the conference in scoring. AUM finished the second half out shooting Faulkner 10-3.
Wade's first goal came in the 58th minute on a perfect pass from Albertsdottir, who had broke down the right side of the field and found Wade unmarked at the back post. The pass was right at Wade's feet, where she never broke stride and guided the first goal into the net.
The Lady Senators leading scorer, Amber Elam, found Wade who was again unmarked, 16 minutes later for another open net goal and the final score of the match.
Daisy Burnfield picked up six saves in goal for AUM and picked up her second consecutive tournament shutout. The shutout was her seventh of the season.
The win over Faulkner was a revenge win, as the Lady Eagles had picked up their first-ever win over AUM during the regular season 4-2.
AUM is now 14-4-1 overall and Faulkner ends its season at 11-7. The Lady Senators will now face the winner of the Lee University-Shorter College match in the tournament championship. That match has been set for Saturday; the time has yet to be determined.
