Lee freshman Kim Conrad got the scoring started for the Lady Flames less than two minutes in to the match. The defender took a pass from senior midfielder Jenna Achten and deposited it in the back of the net to take a 1-0 advantage early in the first half. Lee kept the ball in the RedHawk defensive third for the majority of the first half, out shooting Martin Methodist, 6-2.
Lee senior Christiane Christensen pushed the Lady Flames lead to 2-0 in the 52nd minute with a nifty move inside the RedHawk box off of an assist from sophomore Jamie Achten. Lauren Good capped off the scoring just over 20 minutes later finding the back of the net off of an assist by Christensen in the 73rd minute. Lee keeper Leah Wilson hasn't allowed a goal since Oct. 13, when Lee defeated NCAA Divisions II Carson Newman, 4-1.
The Lady Flames will play the No. 6-seed Concordia (Ore.) at 6 p.m. CST on Friday, Dec. 4.
All Wednesday matches were moved from main pitch of the Jack Allen Recreation Complex to an alternate field to allow for two off-days on the main playing surface. The main pitch received almost two inches of rain since Sunday evening, which combined with eight matches in two days has left it in need of a day off.
