SIOUX CITY, Iowa - Sixth-seeded Georgetown (Ky.) went the distance with Lee (Tenn.), winning in five sets, 25-16, 16-25, 25-11, 19-25, 15-9, on Saturday to earn a spot in the title match of the NAIA Volleyball National Championship Presented by Siouxland Sports Medicine Foundation in the Tyson Events Center/Gateway Arena. The National Championship match between top-seeded Fresno Pacific (Calif.) and Georgetown will begin at 8 p.m. CST.

Georgetown will be playing for its first volleyball national title in 13 previous trips to the national championship. First-year head coach Nick Griffin's Tigers will put a 45-3 record on the line against two-time defending national champion Fresno Pacific (37-0). It will be the first meeting of the season between the two programs.

Each set was dominated by either Georgetown or Lee, as there were only seven instances in which the match was tied and there were only two lead changes throughout the entire five-setter. In the decisive set, the Tigers went to senior Erica Janszen to secure the win. She had four kills in the set and put the final point on the board for Georgetown. Lee was only able to record three kills and was held to a negative hitting percentage in the fifth set.

Not only was Janszen the go-to hitter in the final set, but throughout the entire match. She finished with her highest-kill showing in six matches played at the national championship with 22. Janszen also played a key role in the Georgetown's defensive effort with 19 digs. Fellow senior Allie Bertke recorded 13 kills for her third double-figure kill match in Sioux City and also had 15 digs. Amanda Philpot again directed the offense by handing out 44 assists. She guided the defense with 21 digs.

Lee's Kayla Carlisle had 11 kills and Milica Krsmanovic had a 10-kill performance in the loss. Teaming together to guide the offense were Gretchen Higdon and Kelsey Leffew with 19 and 16 assists, respectively. Stephanie Todd had a match-high 23 digs.

Lee, who entered the national championship unseeded, made its first-ever appearance in the semifinals and wraps up the season with a 40-6 record.
