After taking home the Southern States Athletic Conference's Player of the Week honor yesterday, Faulkner University's Courtney Barber claimed the same award at the national level this afternoon.
The senior first baseman from Montgomery, Ala., rocked the plate over the weekend going 11-for-15 hitting .733 with a staggering eight home runs and 13 RBIs in just four games. Barber helped lead the Eagles in back-to-back series sweeps of Emmanuel and Southern Wesleyan.
Ten of Barber's 12 home runs have come in her last six games. She is hitting .409 on the season and has 25 RBIs.
This is Barber's first national Player of the Week award.
