Southern Polytechnic State University Athletic Director Karl Staber announced today the resignation of Head Women's Basketball Coach Nate Teymer.Coach Teymer is leaving SPSU to become the Head Women's Coach at Augusta State University.

"Coach Teymer has done a brilliant job leading the Hornet's program," commented Staber. "We at Southern Poly wish Nate all the best as he moves on to Augusta State."

This past season the Hornet's women's basketball team finished the season with an impressive 30-5 record and won the SSAC Tournament Championship. The team qualified to compete in the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in the program's history and made the "Sweet Sixteen." Coach Teymer was honored with the WBCA NAIA National Coach of the Year award.

Staber noted a committee will soon be formed to begin the search process for a new head coach.
