Behind Judah's hot batting, the Senators out-hit the Lions 14-5, however
some stingy defense by Emmanuel kept AUM off the board until the sixth
inning. The Lions held a 2-0 lead in the second inning, after Luis
Bomback hit a two-RBI single.
Justin Williams cut the lead in half when he led off the sixth inning
with a solo home run. After tying the game on a sacrifice fly, the
Senators took the lead thanks to a key error and capped the four-run
inning with an RBI double from Judah.
Taking the lead was all that Senator's starter Aaron Elmore (3-1) needed,
as he threw the full nine innings, striking out seven along the way.
Starter Josh McCurry (0-10) threw five and two-thirds innings in the
loss for the Lions.
The AUM defense was solid behind Elmore turning three doubles plays.
Both sides showed a knack for turning two as their were a combined five
double plays in the game.
In the eighth inning, the Senators broke it open as Williams singled
with the bases loaded driving in a pair of runs and allowing a third to
score on a throwing error by the Lions. Williams ended up on third and
eventually came in to score as AUM posted five runs in the frame.
Williams was 2-for-5 at the plate with three RBIs and scored twice.
Arrighi was 2-for-4 and Bruce Alter was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a
run scored. Eric McGee was the only Emmanuel player with multiple hits,
as he went 2-for-4.
