Costantino led off the game with a double and came in to score in the first inning to put the Flames ahead early. After the Hawks tied the game with an unearned run in the second, Costantino hit a two-RBI triple and later came in to score on a wild pitch to put Lee ahead for good. The Flames' center fielder finished the game 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored.

The Hawks kept the game close, as Matt Johnson singled home a run in the fifth to make it a 6-2 game. Johnson finished the day 3-for-5 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored.

Lee responded to Shorter's effort with four more runs in the bottom of the sixth. Three of those runs came in to score on Junior Rodriguez's bases-loaded double. Rodriguez was also 3-for-5 at the plate and drove in a total of four runs.
