The Flames struck for 21 hits with Jose Cuevas leading the way with his 5-for-6 effort that saw him finish a triple shy of the cycle as he drove in three runs and scored three times. Brown drove in five runs with a 4-for-6 performance that included two doubles and two homers.

The tournament RBI leader, Gary Owens, was the lone bright spot for the Hornets, as he drove in three more runs with a 2-for-3 that helped him finish with 10 RBIs from four games. He was the only player on the SPSU team with multiple hits as the Hornets were out-hit 21-7.

Jay Bolen (7-1) went the distance for the Flames, fanning five batters in the complete-game victory. Starter Ty Williams (2-2) suffered the loss for the Hornets, who got a strong relief effort from Owens, who came in from right field to throw a pair of scoreless innings of relief.

The Flames are 3-1 at the double-elimination SSAC Tournament and will have to win twice to take the title from the Barons, which have gone a perfect 4-0 heading into Sunday's championship game. If Lee comes away with the win there will be a final tournament game on Monday to decide the SSAC Tournament title.
