Gulfport, MS- No.2 Lee University advanced to the championship game of the 2011 Southern States Athletic Conference play-offs with a 6-0 rout of Faulkner University Thursday afternoon at the Gulfport Sportsplex.

The Lady Flames dominated play all afternoon outshooting the Lady Eagles 20 to 6. Leah Fortune put the Lady Flames on the board in the 13th minute knocking home a Ode Fulutudilu pass and SSAC Player of the Year Jamie Achten added another goal in the 27th minute to stake Lee to a 2-0 lead at the half.

In the second half Ashely Aragona scored twice while Darcy Brannen and Rachael Nasralla each added goals of their own for the final margin.

 

Leah Wilson recorded three saves to pick up the win in goal for the Lady Flames.

The Lady Flames will take on the winner of Brenau/Mobile on Saturday at 2:00 pm in the SSAC Championship game at the Sportsplex.
