The Lee University volleyball team recorded another first on Wednesday afternoon when senior outsider hitter Bojana Vulin became the first Lady Flame to be selected to the NAIA All-American second team.

In 1998 Katrina Chatfield became the first Lee volleyball player to be named an NAIA All-American third teamer. Chatfield was joined on the third team this season by sophomore powerhouse Naiara Fernandes, who became only the second Lady Flame to earn that honor.

The Lady Flames have had at least four players listed on the honorable mention squad, including Kerri Hudson, Chris Schroeder and this year's standouts Bruna Langner and Daisy Varbanova.

Vulin recently completed two years of outstanding play for the Lady Flames. She directed Lee to a 44-3 record and a No. 2 ranking in the nation this past season. She was a key figure in Lee's Southern States Athletic Conference and Region XIII titles. Over the past two seasons, the Lee club has won 85 games and lost just 11 times.

The native of Pale, Bosnia/Herzegovina was selected player of the year by the SSAC and Region XIII. Described by coach Andrea Hudson as one of the best blockers to ever play for Lee, Vulin holds the record for the vertical jump by a female athlete and continued to work hard to improve her game.

While the Lee squad will lose Vulin, along with seniors Lisa Kidwell and Missy Elser, Fernandes and Langner (only sophomores) join junior Daisy Varbanova in returning to help guide what should be another very strong Lee team in 2005.
