The number one and two seeds in the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament advanced to meet each other tomorrow, with Lee and North Georgia both recording victories. 

Lee will join North Georgia in the winner's bracket final after beating Auburn-Montgomery (AUM), 6-1.  The Saints blasted Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW), 17-4.  The other two games saw Brewton-Parker eliminate Southern Poly, 7-4, and Berry College send Faulkner University home after a 10-7 victory. 

The Flames collected nine hits to score the six runs, while B.J. Church was masterful in holding AUM to only three hits in eight innings.  The junior right-hander picked up his 12th win, striking out nine.  Russ Williams closed out the game with a scoreless ninth. 

Meanwhile, Clark Jackson and Jimmy Stanfield supplied the muscle for the second straight day, as Jackson went 3-for-5 and scored two runs.  Stanfield had a pair of hits and three RBI.  Chris Shepherd plated two runners, while Patrick Spangler scored twice.  Lee scored three big runs in the fourth inning to put the game out of reach on Shepherd's two-run double. 

For the Senators, Justin Barrett went 3 2/3 frames, allowing six hits, five runs, and three walks.  He struck out two in dropping to 3-3.  Ben McNeal, Brian Arrighi, and Leslie Cooper finished off the game by allowing a combined one run in 5 1/3 innings, while whiffing five. 

Lee records its 13th straight win to up its record to 45-9.  They have won 32 of their last 34 games. 

In the 3:30 game, the Hurricanes of GSW staked a 3-0 lead after three innings, but the Saints scored six runs in the top of the fourth to take the lead.  North Georgia would not look back as they put up 11 more runs in the remaining five innings.

Georgia Southwestern scored two of their runs off solo home runs by Jake Mobley and Patrick McCarthy. Jeremy McCall accounted for the other Hurricanes runs with two RBI.

Justin Rickett swung a hot bat with a 4-for-5 game. Rickett homered, scored three times and knocked in four runs. Kevin Bulger was 3-for-5 with an RBI, a triple and three runs scored.  Creston Warner and Richie Daigle each tallied two hits with Warner rounding the bases with a home run and Daigle legging out a triple. 

Stephen Flake went the distance for North Georgia to earn the win. Nathan Tamargo was charged with the loss.

Brewton-Parker College defeated Southern Polytechnic State University 7-1 and Berry College whipped Faulkner University 10-7 to stay alive in the loser's bracket of the Southern States Athletic Baseball Tournament.

 Freshman Millard Grant pitched the complete nine innings and allowed only four hits in the Brewton-Parker win. He fanned 11 hitters and walked three.  Josh Evans drove home two runs for the winners with a pair of doubles. He also scored once. Madison Herrin also doubled twice while Jeremiah Barrow banged out three hits and collected two RBI. Ashley Hooks added two hits and a RBI to the 13-hit attack.

Jason Wimberly was charged with the pitching defeat. Adam McCollum blasted a solo homer for Southern Poly and Justin Hogan doubled.

Berry jumped out to an early margin against Faulkner, and then held on to eliminate the Eagles. In fact, 19 Faulkner hits were not enough to stop the Vikings, who managed 14 hits of their own.

 Jack Cash paced the winning attack with a home run and single. He drove in four of Berry 's runs and scored once. Britt Hubier added a double and two singles, while Palmer Karr kicked with in with a pair of two-base hit and posted two RBI. Tyler Driskill and Matt Norris had two hits each.

Jared Johnson had four hits for the losers and Nolan Williams had three hits for Faulkner. Patrick Guillory was the winning hurler and Justin Standridge was charged with the defeat.  

The schedule for tomorrow will start with Berry and AUM battling at 12:00, while Brewton-Parker and Georgia Southwestern will clash at 3:30.  The final game of the day will feature No. 6 Lee taking on No. 14 North Georgia.  You can keep up with the results on http://www.goleeflames.com/tournaments/baseball, updated after every game.
