
Shreveport, La. – After racing through the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament and moving up to sixth in the nation this past week, North Georgia College & State University will be the top seed in the upcoming NAIA Region XIII Baseball Tournament.
The Region XIII Tournament will consist of eight teams from the SSAC and the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. Along with the Saints, Lee University, Auburn Montgomery University, Georgia Southwestern State University, and Berry College will represent the SSAC. Joining host Louisiana State University in Shreveport from the GCAC will be the University of Mobile and William Carey College.
The teams will meet Monday, May 9, for the Region XIII Banquet at the University Center on the campus of LSUS and the double elimination tournament begin play Tuesday afternoon at 2:30pm.
In the first round, game one will feature first seed North Georgia against eighth seed Berry College at 2:30 p.m. at Pilots Field. Second seed LSUS takes on seventh seed AUM in the second game at 6:30 p.m. on Pilots Field. Game three will feature the third and sixth seed as Lee challenges William Carey on Captain Shreve Field at 6:30 p.m. The fourth game is at 2:30 p.m. on Captain Shreve Field as fourth seed Mobile faces fifth seed GSW.
Pilot Field and Captain Shreve High School will be the two sites used for the first eight games of tournament. At the conclusion of Wednesday's events, all competitions will held at Pilot Field for the remainder of the tournament. All of the tournaments competitions will be broadcasted live via the internet on http://www.ihigh.com.
