Southern Polytechnic State University has named Mr. Nate Teymer as Head Women’s Basketball Coach.  Teymer is the second coach in the short history of the women’s basketball program at SPSU.  The program will begin its fourth season during the upcoming school year.

“Nate brings a strong academic/athletic philosophy to our program,” commented Athletic Director Karl Staber.  “We are very excited to have Nate join our staff.  He is a great fit for our program and the University.”

Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, Coach Teymer comes to Southern Poly from Shorter College where he has spent the previous two years as Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach.  Teymer says “I’m excited to be a part of the SPSU family and am looking forward to helping build the women’s basketball program.”

Teymer was also a four year standout for the Grand View basketball team from 1995 to 1999. Coach Teymer received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education in 1999. In 2002 , he received his Master’s of Education in Health and Physical Education from Georgia Southwestern.
