MOUNT BERRY, Ga....Berry College will host a basketball coaches clinic Sept. 17, with featured speakers including former Auburn women's coach and Women's Basketball Hall of Fame member Joe Ciampi, 2004 NCAA Division II men's national championship coach Tony Ingle of Kennesaw State, Tennessee-Chattanooga head coaches John Shulman (men) and Wes Moore (women) and Berry head coaches Jeff Haarlow (men) and Jonathan Norton (women).

     The clinic will be held at Ford Gym on the Berry campus from 12:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.  Dinner will be provided.

     Several topics will be covered by the speakers.  Ciampi will speak about zone offense, while Ingle will cover man offense, Shulman will cover man defense, Moore will handle quick hitting set plays, Haarlow will lead his Berry team through a practice emphasizing motion and shooting drills, and Norton will lead his team through a practice featuring team drills and the triangle offense.

     The cost to attend the clinic is 25 dollars per person, and includes dinner.

JOHN SHULMAN
Head Men’s Coach, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga
• Named Head Men’s Coach At UTC (2004)
• Led the Mocs to the Southern Conference North Division Title, the So-Con Tournament Championship, and the programs first NCAA Tournament bid since 1997 all in his first season. The Mocs finished with a record of 20-11 (2005)
• Named Tennessee Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association
• Assistant Coach at UTC under current Auburn Coach Jeff Lebo (2002-2004)
• As an assistant at UTC he helped lead the Mocs to an average of 20 wins per season
• Assistant Coach at Tennessee Tech (1998-2002)
• As an assistant at Tennessee Tech he helped lead the Golden eagles to back-to-back OVC Titles (2001 & 2002)
• Assistant Coach  at Wofford College (1996-98 & 1989-90)
• Assistant Coach at East Tennessee State (1990-1996)

WES MOORE
Head Women’s Coach, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga

• The only women’s coach in NCAA history to lead three different teams at all three levels to the national tournament (Maryville College, Francis Marion University, UTC)
• Career record 291 – 65, winning percentage of 81.7%
• Named Head Coach at UTC (1998)
• Since he has been at UTC Moore has guided the Lady Mocs to six straight Regular Season Conference Titles, four NCAA Tournaments, and four So-Con Tournament Championships
• Moore has been named the Southern Conference Coach of the Year two times (2004 & 2000)
• Named Head Coach at Francis Marion University in Florence South Carolina (1995)
• While at FMU Moore led the Lady Patriots to two NCAA Division II Tournaments, One Division II Final Four, and was named Peach Belt Conference Coach of the Year once   
• Assistant Coach under legendary women’s coach Kay Yow at North Carolina State University (19993-95)
• While at NC State he help lead the Wolf-Pack to the NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen
• Head Coach at NCAA Division III Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee (1987-1993)
• In Moore’s tenure at Maryville he took a team that had a record of 3-47 the previous two seasons and turned them around to become a national power with a combined six year record of 131-36
• Named the Converse/WBCA District 5 Coach of the Year three times (1990, 92, & 93)
• Assistant Men’s Coach at Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, Tennessee (1984-87)

TONY INGLE
Head Men’s Coach, Kennesaw State University
  
• Named Head Coach at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia (2000)
• In Ingle’s five seasons the Owls have posted a combined record of 116-45, three NCAA Division II Tournament appearances, two Peach Belt Regular Season Titles, one Peach Belt Tournament Championship, and one NCAA Division II National Championship
• Named Peach Belt Coach of the Year (2003)
• Assistant Coach at Brigham Young University (1989-1997)
• While at BYU Coach Ingle helped lead the Cougars to five NCAA Tournaments, three WAC Conference Regular Season Titles, and two WAC Tournament Championships
• In Ingles eight seasons at BYU the Men’s Program had an overall record of 157-77
• Served as a Scout for the Utah Jazz of the NBA (1997-99)
•  Head Coach at University of Alabama-Huntsville (1988)
• Head Coach at Gordon College in Barnesville, Georgia (1985-88)
• Coach Ingle led Gordon to a combined record of 61-32 in three seasons and trip to the National Junior College National Championship game
• Coach Ingle has coached at both Northwest High School and Southeast High School in Dalton Georgia, as well as leading Cherokee High School to the Class AAA State Championship in 1981-82

Joe Ciampi
Former Women’s Coach, Auburn University
• Inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame (2005)
• Never had a losing season in 25 seasons at Auburn, two season at West Point, and nine seasons as a high school coach
• 27 –Year career record 0f 607-313
• While at Auburn Coach Ciampi led the Lady Tigers to 16 NCAA Tournaments, three consecutive National Championship Games, 10 Sweet Sixteen appearances, six Elite Eight appearances, four SEC Regular Season Titles, and four SEC Tournament Championships
• Named National Coach of the Year three times (1987, 89, & 93)
• In nine years as a High School Coach he compiled a record of 156-42
