Athletic
Director Bill Popp announced on August 1 the hiring of Misty Griffin as
the new Women’s Basketball Coach. “We are pleased to have Misty join
our staff of hard working coaches. We are fortunate to have her and her
knowledge to now lead our program to new heights. I am confident she
will do great things for the basketball team and the Reinhardt
community” said Athletic Director Bill Popp
Prior to Reinhardt, Griffin spent seven seasons at Roane State Community College in Harriman, TN. During
her tenure the Raiderette program produced a number of All TJCCAA, All
Region VII, and All-American Performers, as well as Academic
All-Americans. Roane State

Division I and II programs. For six seasons she served as Assistant
Coach under Johnny Jones. Last season Griffin was Head Coach of a Raiderette squad that placed five of six graduating sophomores on the All Academic Team for the TJCCAA.
Griffin hails from Crossville, AL and graduated from Crossville High School. From there she signed to play basketball at Snead State Community College in Boaz, AL and earned an A.S. in Health and Physical Education. From Snead she transferred to Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, TN where she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. While
at Martin Methodist she was a member of the 1994-1995 NSCAA National
Championship squad and was awarded the Del Noble Award for Tournament
MVP. Griffin
completed her education when she received her Master of Arts degree in
Lifetime Wellness from Tennessee Technological Institute in Cookeville, TN.
