MONTGOMERY - The fans that came to the Physical Education Complex were kept on the edge of their seats for much of the first half, but breathed a sigh of relief as the Lady Senators pulled away in the second half to defeat Reinhardt College 62-49 Thursday night.

The victory gave AUM Head Coach Steve Crotz his 200th victory at the institution, to go with his 500 career victories he earned two seasons ago.Leading 25-23 at the half, the Lady Senators outscored Reinhardt by nine points in the second half due in part to 60 (15-for-25) percent shooting from the floor.

The Lady Senators shot 52.9 (27-for-51) percent from the floor for the game, while holding Reinhardt to 50 (22-for-44) percent from the floor. The Lady Eagles shot 57.1 (4-for-7) percent from behind the three-point line, while the Lady Senators were 0-for-7.

Once again, the Lady Senators out-rebounded an opponent, this time out-rebounding Reinhardt 32-16 for the game.

Amanda Tolbert led the way for AUM with 16 points, while TaKenya Hightower came off the bench to add 13 points and nine rebounds. Monica Diamond added 13 points and five rebounds, becoming just the 11th player in school history to score over 900 career point. Freda Cherry added 10 points in the Lady Senators victory.

Amanda Clonts scored a game-high 21 points for Reinhardt.

AUM (18-5, 11-0 GACC) returns to action on Saturday as they travel to Franklin Springs, Ga. to face Emmanuel College at 5 pm.
