Montgomery, Ala.—Junior Kelly, Whatley, has been named NAIA First Team All-American.  The junior second baseman led the nation in hits with 109 and finished the season with a team-high .419 batting average, a .612 slugging percentage and a .444 on base percentage.

Kelly Leads AUM Trio Named All-America

 

Montgomery, Ala.—Junior Kelly, Whatley, has been named NAIA First Team All-American.  The junior second baseman led the nation in hits with 109 and finished the season with a team-high .419 batting average, a .612 slugging percentage and a .444 on base percentage.  He also led the Senators in doubles with 22 and total bases with 159.  He was second in runs scored (65), RBI’s (59) and tied for second in triples (2) and home runs (8).  Kelly was also the only player on the team to start and play all 69 games this season.

 

Shortstop Matt Keel, Alexander City, has been named to the NAIA Honorable Mention All-America team along with first baseman Travis Granberry, Monroeville.

 

Keel hit .395 on the season and scored 53 runs.  He was second on the team with 96 hits and had 17 doubles, two triples and two home runs.  He also had 42 RBI’s and a slugging percentage of .506.

 

Granberry finished the season with a .316 batting average and a team-high 14 home runs and 65 RBI’s.  He had 18 doubles and a .599 slugging percentage and a .393 on base percentage.
