John Ihlenburg will step up into son Mark Ihlenburg’s full time position as the number one assistant baseball coach and athletic grounds specialist.  For the past two and a half years John has served as a part time assistant coach and Head Coach for the JV team at Reinhardt College. His new role will include coordination of recruiting as well as handling the pitching staff. John will also oversee all of Reinhardt’s athletic fields. 

Coach Bill Popp stated while he hates to lose Mark Ihlenburg, who has been a vital part of the growth of the program, he is excited that John Ihlenburg will take over the full-time role. “John is someone I trust completely as we have shared many baseball seasons together over the years and many thanks to Mark for the effort he has given us over the two years and wish him the best of luck in his new career."
