NEW ORLEANS - The top-ranked Auburn University Montgomery Lady Senators and second-ranked Senators placed themselves one step closer to a NAIA National Championship, as they gained automatic berths by winning their respective NAIA Region XIII Tournaments this weekend.The Lady Senators defeated conference-rival Brenau University 8-1 in the championship match, while placing all six team members on the All-Region team. Dijana Stanic was also awarded the NAIA Region XIII Plyaer of the Year.

Meanwhile, the Senators won an all-GACC final as they defeated Georgia Southwestern 7-2 in the championship match.

All six team members were named All-Region, while Anton Brykalin won the NAIA Region XIII Player of the Year.

Anuk Christiansz was named the Coach of the Year in both the men's and women's division.

AUM returns to action in the NAIA National Tournament May 17-21 in Mobile.
