
The Lady Warriors, and NCCAA South Region Coach of the Year, Chris R. Williams, are on their way to Oakland University, Oakland City, IN, to participate in NCCAA Women’s Division I National Championships slated for March 8-10, 2007.
To earn their NCCAA 2007 South Regional Championship the Lady Warriors faced the North Greenville University Lady Crusaders in an epic battle (79-72) played in the Emmanuel College Lions’ Den, Franklin, Springs, Georgia, on Wednesday, February 21, 2007. Both teams played as aggressively on offense as they played on defense, and were well-coached from both benches.
Keunna Thomas led The Lady Warriors balanced offensive by scoring 18 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, and snatched 3 steals. Sara Vollmer scored 14 points, and pulled down 8 rebounds. Chinessia Lee scored 13 points, while Savannah Parnell scored 12 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, while Felecia Spencer scored 12 points. For the Lady Warrior defensive effort Keunna Thomas snatched 3 steals, while Sara Vollmer blocked 2 Lady Crusader shots. Savannah Parnell and Katie Sullivan both blocked 1 shot each.Robin Warner led the Lady Crusaders with 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Nikki Wood and Audrey Toscano both scored 12 points, and Amanda Milner scored 10 points. Nikki Woods snatched 5 steals, with Eboni Davis grabbing 3 steals. Audrey Toscano and Samantha Frost grabbed 2 steals each. The North Greenville University Lady Crusaders are coached by Jayne Arledge.
