Ana Oliver, Director of Athletics, announced the hiring of Brian Solomon as the next head volleyball coach at Columbia College.
Solomon served as assistant coach at NAIA member institution Milligan
College for the past three seasons and as a youth minister at Covenant
Presbyterian Church, both located in Tennessee. Additionally, he is
working toward a Master of Divinity from Emmanuel School of Religion,
located in Johnson City, Tennessee, with plans to complete his study
later this month.
As an undergraduate at Hope International University where he competed as a setter, he led his team to a top ten ranking nationally in NAIA men’s volleyball for 2002, 2003, and 2004, and back-to back NCCAA national championships in 2002 and 2003. He also earned numerous individual awards including NCCAA All-American honors in 2003 and Hope International’s Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year in 2004.
Solomon will officially take over coaching duties in July. He and his wife, Lindsey, will reside in Columbia, South Carolina.
