MONTGOMERY, Ala.—Elvis Sosa blasted two home runs and had five RBI to lead Lee to a 14-4 win over Southern Wesleyan University, eliminating the Warriors from the Southern States Athletic Conference baseball tournament.
SWU (33-21) started the game off with a bang, as the Warriors pushed across three runs in the bottom of the first inning on RBI doubles from Kellen Kmiecik and Kevin Brown.
After the first inning it was all Lee as they scored 14 runs over the next five innings, including five runs in both the third and sixth inning. It was all started in the top of the second when Sosa hit the first pitch of the inning over the left field fence.
Lee took the lead for good in the third on RBI hits from Jeremy Hutslar, Tony Perez, Nick Utley and Michael Valadez.
Joining Sosa in the home run department were Nick Utley and Tony Perez. The home run for Utley was his ninth of the season and Perez’s home run was his fifth.
