
Montgomery, Ala. –Auburn University Montgomery senior left handed pitcher Daniel Forrer went to the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 32nd round of the 2007 Major League Draft on Friday afternoon.
The 967th overall pick, Forrer notched a 9-2 record for the Senators during the 2007 season with 107 strike outs against only 32 walks. He finished the year with a 2.48 ERA and held opponents to a .158 average on the season.
Forrer was selected the Southern States Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year, 2nd team NAIA All-American and a member of the All-Region XIII team. A graduate of Montgomery’s Jeff Davis High School, he was selected SSAC Pitcher of the Week five times in 2007 and threw a no-hitter in AUM’s conference opener at Brewton-Parker College.
