The Columbia College Volleyball team took a break from preseason Tuesday to visit children at Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital in Columbia, SC.
The team brought homemade cookies, icing, and decorations to a community play room so that kids could enjoy being kids for the hour. The children were even the envy of staff and the adults in the room who were eager to join in the fun. Junior Lauren Bach said about the experience, “It was just great to see the smiles on all their faces.”
Coach Brian Solomon said, “College athletics is about many things, and being active in your community is a life long lesson for us all. As is usually the case with an activity like this, the children were a bigger blessing to us than we probably were to them.”
