MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- After a pair of conference wins, including a ranked win over No. 15 Lee, the duo of Nenad Cudic and Steinthor Thorsteinsson claimed the Southern States Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week Awards on Monday.

Thornsteinsson, a native of Kopavogur, Iceland, scored two goals on the week for the Senators, including the game-winner in No. 14 AUM's 2-0 win over No. 15 Lee. The goal came when the freshman forward did a flip throw right at the Lee goal, which was bobbled into the net. He also picked up the opening-goal in the Senators' 6-1 win over Shorter.

Cudic, the AUM goalkeeper, was selected as the SSAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. The Belgrade, Serbia native allowed just one goal in 180 minutes of action. After allowing just one goal in AUM's 6-1 win over Shorter, the sophomore goalkeeper stood strong and shutout No. 15 Lee in AUM's 2-0 win. He totaled eight saves for the week.
