MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Two Berry seniors, goalkeeper Mike Wentzler and midfielder Derrick Colbert,  earned the Southern States Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week awards on Monday. No. 7 Berry played well in a close game against No. 8 Mobile, but eventually fell short 3-2 on the day.

Despite, allowing three goals, Wentzler played a good game for Berry recoring five solid saves. For the Duluth, Ga. native it is his fourth time taking home the honor of SSAC Defensive Player of the Week. Earlier in the year Wentzler earned the National Defensive Player of the Week Award.

 

Colbert, from Cornelia, Ga., scored the first goal of the game for the Vikings. It was just his second goal of the year, but it tied the match at 1-1 going into half time.
