The No.3 seed, Lee University, hosted a win against No.6 Shorter College Tuesday. The game began slow in the drizzling rain, but intensified after Lee scored in the first 16 minutes of the second half. The first goal was claimed by freshman John Milhomme assisted by Ivan Heredia. Senior Joseph Connor followed with a huge unassisted goal in the 79th minute when he broke away from midfield. The Flames got the shutout with a final score of 2-0. Lee improved their record to 13-3-3 on the year; they will challenge Auburn University Montgomery Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Berry College. The Shorter Hawks finished their season 4-12-1.

Reinhardt College hosted the first round of the SSAC soccer Tournament Tuesday afternoon at the Jim and Syble Boring Sports Complex. The rainy afternoon did not phase the Eagles, who finished victorious.

The No. 4 ranked men’s team faced the No. 5 seed Southern Wesleyan. Reinhardt’s Spencer Davidson got the Eagle’s started1-0 with an 11th minute goal assisted by freshman goalkeeper Corey Grimes. Philip Overby, a freshman from Woodstock, Ga., increased the score 2-0 in the 53rd minute with the help of freshman Sam Muza. Padraig Mcdonagh secured the 3-0 shut out with an 89th minute score. Southern Wesleyan finished their season at 9-7-2 overall. The Eagles, 10-6 overall, will advance to the semifinal match in Mount Berry, Ga. this Friday at 2:30 p.m. They will face the No. 3 seed Berry College, who are ranked No. 7 nationally in the NAIA.
