MOUNT BERRY, Ga. -- Teja Barkmann headed home the match-winner and SSAC Player of the Year Mike Wentzler posted his eighth shutout of the season, as Berry won 3-0 in the Championship Match of the Southern States Athletics Conference Tournament. Berry improves to 15-2 for the year, while Lee's record falls to 14-4-3 on the season.
Barkmann headed home a cross from Luis Salazar in the 16th minute of play. For the Herne, Germany native it was his team-leading 10th goal of the year.

Berry added a second first-half goal when Alejandro Palacios launched a shot from about 35-yards out that hit the post and went in past Lee keeper Michael Simmons.

Wentzler, posted four saves for Berry and was aided by two team saves, to record his eighth shutout of the year. His counterpart Simmons record two saves.

Berry tacked on an insurance goal in the 77th minute when Salazar finished from inside the six-yard area on a pass from Barkmann.

It is the first SSAC Tournament Title for Berry, which moved from the TranSouth Conference in 2003. Berry will host a Region XIII Tournament match next Saturday at Noon. The opponent for that match has not yet been determined.
