Reinhardt College’s Nichole Willis has been named the Southern Athletic Conference women’s Basketball Player of the Week (Jan. 29-Feb. 2). The 5-foot-10 senior guard/forward from Meansville, Ga. was standout in SSAC contests against Columbia College and Southern Wesleyan University this past week.

Willis averaged 25.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocked shots as Reinhardt went 1-1 last week, including a double-overtime defeat to SWU. She shot 54.3 percent (19-of-35) from the field, including 50.0 percent (1-of-2) from 3-point range, and 84.6 percent (11-of-13) from the free throw line. Against Columbia last Thursday, Willis scored a career-high 28 points, including five in the final 1:25 of a close game. In the double-overtime loss to Southern Wesleyan last Saturday, Willis played all 50 minutes, recording her fourth double-double of the season with 23 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
