Jackson was selected based on her performances from Jan. 23 - 29 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings. Junior Walter Hill averaged 19.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists in leading the No. 1 Hawks to three wins over arch-rival Berry College and Southern States Athletic Conference foes Brewton-Parker and No. 17 Lee. Hill notched his team-high fourth double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds against Berry on Monday, then dropped 17 points, six rebounds and four assists on Brewton-Parker in a 97-70 Shorter win. Hill wrapped up his impressive week by shooting 9-for-16 on his way to 21 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals in Shorter's big 80-77 overtime win at Lee in Cleveland. Behind Hill, the conference's second-leading scorer at 18.7 points a game, Shorter is now 21-0 -- the best start in program history -- and remains the NAIA's only unbeaten team.

Regena Jackson

Regena Jackson put together two of her best games of the season posting a career high 42 points against Faulkner University. Jackson's point total of 42 was one shy of the Belhaven school record of 43 set by Jayne Osborne in January of 1982. Jackson went 12 of 20 from the field, 13 for 14 at the free throw line, and 5 of 8 from three point land during her record setting performance. She followed up Thursday's game with a 27 point outing against Spring Hill. Jackson also distributed the ball well notching 12 assists in two games to go along with 10 rebounds and seven steals. Jackson now leads the NAIA in total scoring (481) and points per game at 22.9.
