Norcross, Ga. - Poised to repeat as Conference Champions, the Southern Poly State University (SPSU) men's soccer team has been selected by the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) coaches as the favorite to capture the 2010 SSAC Men's Soccer Championship. In the challenging league competition last season, the Hornets finished first in the regular season with an impressive conference record of 7-0 and an overall record of 14-2-1 and advanced to the second round of the NAIA National Championship.

Shorter University men's soccer standout Sebastian Stihler earned Player of the Week honors for the United Soccer League's Premier Development League after guiding his club, Forest City London, to a pair of PDL victories last week, including a 3-0 win over the Toronto Lynx in his side's home opener.

The Mannheim, Germany native, a two-time All-Southern States Athletic Conference performer who last season was named the SSAC's Defensive Player of Year in addition to being named to the NAIA All-America second team, earned the honor after a strong opening week, one that included a stellar defending and goalkeeping effort in Forest City London's result over Toronto.
