
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced on Thursday that the Lee (Tenn.) University women's golf team has been named the 2010-11 NAIA Scholar-Team of the Year. The Lady Flames finished in the top spot with a 3.86 grade point average during the 2010-11 academic year. A record total of 934 teams, an increase over last year's total of 857, received the award.

Norcross, GA - Shorter University cruised to victory during this year's first championship in several years. With the addition this year of the several new institutions to the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) that sponsor women's golf, the conference was able to host what has been a rare NAIA qualifying conference championship tournament. Seven teams traveled to The Country Club of Columbus (Columbus, GA), where they battled under blue skies over two days on a challenging course.

ROME, Ga. -- The Berry women's golf team placed four players on the All-Tournament team as it cruised to a 58-stroke victory at the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament on Tuesday. The Lady Vikings hosted the 36-hole tournament at the 6,050-yard, par-72 course at Coosa Country Club.
The No. 6-ranked Lady Vikings carded a score of 308-315=623 over the two rounds, to win by 58 strokes over second place Shorter which shot a two-day total of 340-341-=681

ROME, Ga. -- Led by Jayne Curtis' 75, the Berry women's golf team jumped out to a 32-stroke lead after the first round of the Southern States Athletic Conference Women's Golf Tournament on Monday. The 36-hole tournament is being hosted by Berry on the 6,050-yard, par-72 layout of Rome's Coosa Country Club.
