Last season the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) regular season and tournament championships came down to the wire and based on the votes of the SSAC coaches, this year could be comparable. Lee University was voted by the coaches to win the SSAC Softball Championship over Shorter College by three votes, 76 to 73.

CENTRAL, S.C. - As the Southern Wesleyan Softball team prepares for their season opener which is at home on February 4, they took time away from the softball diamond to help a local family in need.

This past Saturday, the Warriors participated in a "Women Build" for Habitat for Humanity and spent several hours assisting in the building of a house for a family in the town of Liberty, S.C. which is seven miles from the Southern Wesleyan campus. During their time at the project site, the softball team worked on the framing of the front and back walls of the house. They attached plywood to the walls and were able to raise the walls into addition. The softball team was not the only team group of students representing Southern Wesleyan University as there were three other students from the university who assisted with the project.

MONTGOMERY-The Auburn University at Montgomery softball team teamed with the Montgomery Humane Society to host the first "Commerce for Canines Dog Parade" through the downtown Montgomery entertainment district on Friday, Nov. 13.

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - Saturday, August 8, 2009, members of the Brewton-Parker Lady Barons Softball Team participated in a Kids Against Hunger packaging event in Vidalia, Georgia.  The event was held at the Grace United Methodist Church and the team members assisted this organization with the assembly of a revolutionary food product that will be distributed around the world.
