LEXINGTON, Ky. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) recently announced that Fresno Pacific University head women's volleyball coach Dennis Janzen has been selected as the 2009 AVCA NAIA National Coach of the Year, while Lee University (Tenn.) assistant women's volleyball coach Kevin Hudson has been named the organization's inaugural AVCA NAIA National Assistant Coach of the Year.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa - Sixth-seeded Georgetown (Ky.) went the distance with Lee (Tenn.), winning in five sets, 25-16, 16-25, 25-11, 19-25, 15-9, on Saturday to earn a spot in the title match of the NAIA Volleyball National Championship Presented by Siouxland Sports Medicine Foundation in the Tyson Events Center/Gateway Arena. The National Championship match between top-seeded Fresno Pacific (Calif.) and Georgetown will begin at 8 p.m. CST.
LEXINGTON, KY- The SSAC Player of the Year, Milica Krsmanovic of Lee University is joined on the AVCA 14-member All-Region Team by her teammate, Kayla Carlisle and Shorter College's Kasi Runion.
