Kansas City, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has released the bracket and pool play matchups for the 2009 NAIA Softball National Championship, scheduled for May 14-20 in Decatur, Ala. The Shorter College Lady Hawks are in Pool B, with Lubbock Christian University, Morningside College and Asbury College.

Rome, Ga. - It took five games and four days to do it, but the Shorter College Lady Hawks softball team can now call themselves the conference championships. On Saturday night, following a three-hour rain delay, the Lady Hawks beat the Lee University Lady Flames, 6-2, to be crowned champs and receive the automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship beginning May 14.

Rome, Ga. - The Southern States Athletic Conference Softball Tournament, hosted by Shorter College at the Alto Park Softball Complex in Rome, has been postponed due to inclement weather. All games scheduled for Friday, May 1, will now be held on Saturday May 2.
