Alabama Gulf Coast Sports Commission And University of Mobile To Host 2011 & 2012 Softball Championships

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced that the 2011 and 2012 NAIA Softball National Championships will be hosted by the Alabama Gulf Coast Sports Commission (AGCSC), in conjunction with the University of Mobile (Ala.). The events will be played at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex in Gulf Shores, Ala. The 2011 national championship will take place May 19-25 and the 2012 event will be contested May 17-23.

Trio of Lady Hawks garner NAIA Softball All-America honors

Shorter College seniors Tiffany Adams and Dandi Ammons and junior Libby Munson have been named to the 2010 NAIA Softball All-America team as announced by the NAIA late Wednesday afternoon.

Wilkes named NAIA All-American Honorable Mention

Faulkner's Scottie Wilkes has been named a 2010 NAIA Softball All-American Honorable Mention.

The junior catcher from Millbrook hit .344 and had 39 RBI this season. She also had three home runs this year including a grand slam to lift the Eagles to a 4-0 win over cross-town rival Auburn Montgomery in the opening round of the Southern States Athletic Conference tournament.

This is Wilkes' first NAIA All-American Honorable Mention and the first for the program since 2008.
